Ok, so I have to admit it took me a long time to recognize what a horrific disaster the tsunami really is. But reality is sinking in fast. 80,000 deaths?! WHOA. Dear Lord.

Amazon has a great way to donate to the Red Cross. 100% goes to the Red Cross. You get a confirmation email so it's tax deductable. And they don't give out your address or name, so no charity junk mail. ... 34-2853546

Plus is kinda fun to watch the donation total grow over time. It's gained almost 1.5 million dollars since I donated this morning. God Bless the internet.

So give what you can. And if you can't, remember the good old Hungersite: ... s/CTDSites

The United States has pledged $35 million. That's just under the price for two Apache helicopter gunships.

Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company, has also pledged $35 million.

Spain, the little country that just had their trains blown to hell last March, pledged $68 million.

If the above links don't appeal to you (although what could be easier than amazon?) there are plenty more here: ... .aidsites/ - Disaster relief agencies, compiled by CNN - calls itself, "The SEA-EAT blog for short. News and information about resources, aid, donations and volunteer efforts." - another listing of links for disaster relief.

Pulled from this post, which has more links than one could shake a tree at.

Canada, as of this morning pledged $40 million, and the death total is now 100,000. With 100,000 more said to possibly die of disease.

Another great organization is
check out their website at

They're based out of Portland OR. You can walk into any US Bank
and tell them you want to make a cash donation. Everything helps!
I like this org. because they're still small enough that you can be
assured it's going directly to the cause. All of the medical professinals
donate their time. $ are used for transportation and supplies.

Thanks, Dan
