Like probably everyone else, my delayed flights = about 4 hrs sleep. But I got to see mah grandma, and that's all I wanted, so there you go.
Anyone else brave the friendly skies this wknd? Some notes:
- Great news for those of us who treat DFW as a second home: Skylink!Yes, the lame-o TRAAIN is history, replaced with a shiny new dual tram thingee (If you've been to orlando, it's very similar) that allegedly can get you from Terminal A-E in under 9 minutes!
- The Bad News from DFW: Chili's is history.
- Sweet jesus Lord God is that Bridget Jones sequel bad.
- What's better than the Stewart Copeland sighting at LAX? What's better than Nick Cave sitting in front of me that one time? I'll tell you, damnit: Peter Mayhew, aka CHEWBACCA, was on my plane to Dallas last night.
Wookies fly first class. That RULES.

my husband thinks that's amazing.
he also comments that it is saying something
that you recognize him - he didn't elaborate on what it's telling us

what's truly amazing is recognizing someone who is famous for wearing a costume.

"recognizing" is a bit of a stretch. deducing comes closer to the truth. We were in the process of getting rerouted when I noticed the HUGE man waiting in line behind us. Then I noticed he was wearing a "friend of the 501st" Tshirt. And holding a British passport. and..wearing a silver chewbacca head ring....and blahblahblah...
Don't I get points for not asking for a photo? Jeez.

Wow, Nick Cave. I think if I would see him, I would jump on him... in a friendly way of course...

Nick Cave just played two shows down the end of my street (well, at Luna Park, which is at the end of my street) I couldn't make it though. darn. Apparently Cat Power supported and had good shows too. Back on-topic, it's the first day of winter here and I wish I was on a plane, t'wards some sunshine somewhere.

Skies? No. But I did wait for 2 hours in a Greyhound bus station yesterday, waiting to see my friend off to Michigan. We spent the time joking about the director in the red vest, whose answer to every question was either "line six" or "leaving shortly," as well as skateboarding in the lobby. Well...I guess I couldn't use the term "skateboarding" for myself, since I spent most of the time leaning one way, with both hands out doing semicircles. Good times.

travel errata addendum ad naseum infinitum. dei.
so i finally got around to seeing Revenge of the Overmarketed and would like to point out that Peter Mayhew got a *screen credit*. So like, he may be just a dude in a suit, but he's still gettin' PAAAAAAAID to be a dude in a suit.
and that so like i not only missed out on a photo op, i missed out on getting to ask questions about his "acting" experience on the "set" and if "Harrison Ford" was a "jerk" and if it was any more rewarding this time around spending 12 hours in front of a green screen instead of a "real" set.
