benjamin gibbard = john r?

Post by dear_prudence »

So recently (today) I was in Barnes, yeah?
And a completely smiling beam when I was surprised to find WIPtF...
Can you imagine just coming across it one day and the lovely things that could happen to someone?
However, you know the sticker things (is there a term for those?) well, the sticker part (at the top that keeps the case closed and lists the artist and title), mind you, said Death Cab for Cutie...When I pretend to Fall
Should I have pointed it out to someone? (this could be a crime)
Was it wrong for me to scrunch my nose and frown?
How does everyone else feel? Do I just sound like an asshole?

Is Ben still rockin the beard? Maybe they just got the two of them mixed up. Maybe the stocker-person is one of those beardists that think they all look alike.

I have actually encountered this exact set of circumstances,
except I was in some other music store. I can't remember
which, but it made me uneasy.

Those stickers aren't the record store's fault. In most cases, they are put on by the manufacturer, when the CD is printed and pressed. Maybe there was a batch that got out with bad labels. If you look at the underside of the disc, you can tell who made it... DiscMakers, CDForge, Crave Dog, Oasis, etc.

The best part about it is that those CD's actually contain Sublime's first record, with the lyric sheets from Mr. Bungle's all covers record. But don't open the packaging, because they're super collectable.

Even better: The UPC still runs Bark31, so really this can only help your scans, Hotrod.

I'm really glad I'm not the only one that thought that. I thought the resemblance was uncanny. :O
