The Daily Show is always first, but the close second is Conan!

Trying to find out where in the Bay Area I can still catch a showing of Tony Takitani. (It's a screen adaptation of a Murakami short story that ran in the New Yorker.) I'm dying to see this thing. Wish me luck.

That's all Drs, if you include James Herriot. Do you always select your dvds in themes? I think I'm going to try this...

If I'm able to, then it's Jon Stewart. Unless there's someone I want to watch on something else.

Otherwise I'm usually asleep, doing homework or lose track of time.

I like this show where a guy with a dog goes around to peoples houses in japan that have dogs (dogs have to be registered here, so there is a sticker on the house and car) and rings the doorbell and asks if they do a trick.

A weiner dog that climbs into paperbags and lets you lock it into a cabinet!
A lab that will wave a flag!
A pug that eats ice cubes in a baby pool!
Shitzu's that dance on thier hind legs!

It's like one long Conan sketch. There might be more going on there, but it's in Japanese so I have no idea.

If I'm in a place with cable that's a very, very easy decision--Jon Stewart. If I'm home (and still up) Conan and all that wonderful red hair wins :)

I don't either, really. I'm way pro-Letterman over Leno, that's for sure. But of the ones listed, my vote goes easily to Stewart.

what I've been thinking: some of these shows I know from the one time I visited the US, in 1990. I mean, that's 15 years ago, and these guys are still there!

As for Jay Leno, I've always wondered how anyone could like those incredibly lame jokes. I liked Conan - I suspect the red hair did help. We had Letterman syndicated for a while, and I liked it at first, but after a while, it got a bit samey.

Every once in a while, Dutch tv tries this late night show thing, but it just doesn't seem to work here. No tradition, I suppose

I LOVE David Letterman. He just gets trumped by a need to see Stewart, and the beginning of Conan. Its programming baby.
