Well that was not a pretend mix swap, it was only intended! And we both fully intended to swap some really crazy stuff!

Anyway, one day I'll do this swapping thing seriuosly. That's a promise!

I had high hopes for your swap, you know. Japanese bubble gum pop vs the European classics.

BUBBLE GUM POP?! That's Tokyo, yo! The Big O is famous for making your ears bleed with the insane, avante-garde, over-the-top, chaos that is JAPANOISE. Highlights include feedback, raaar noises, screaming, cutting a dead cat in half on stage, destroying a livehouse with a forklift, and...um...uber-cuteness (welcome to japan).

It's best live, but ok, I'll pretend to make you a Japanoise mix. Prepare for The Boredoms and Afrirampo!

"2 young Japanese girls rock duo from Osaka JAPAN!
Naked rock!!!!! Naked soul!!! Red red strong red dress!! Freeeeeeeeedam
paradice rock! Jump! With improvisation.
Sooo fantastic & wild performance!"

p.s.-- It's great.

Oh boy! I heard about that on the news last night. How are you holdng up, LSJ?

(The problem was I don't have a car and have to walk to the post office. My body had yet to adjust to the sudden cold, and refused to leave my room)

Check it out

Yonder Canadians didn't get it nearly as bad as we did here in Buffalo, and just north of it. But in true Rock & Roll fashion (and by that I mean stupidity), I drove downtown Thursday night to check out the Okkervil River show, because I was going to be damned before missing a second show in 2 weeks (Harvey Danger had to cancel the Buffalo show because of Sean's voice the week before). About 30 other people made their way down as well. I'm actually posting from work, and probably won't have electricity until later this week.

wow, you are a tough cookie. Hope you get reconnected soon. Do you have heating? And water, man, only today (under a lovely warm shower) was I thinking how lucky we are to always have water.

OK, so our lovely Miss bijou wins the "When I Pretend to Fall Into Autum No-Name Mix" swap prize.

This excellent swapper didn't just burn off a mix CD and call it good, oh no, I'm staring down the barrel of a TEN-DISC BOX SET!!!!

Yup, 10 discs. NINE more than I sent her. I'm only a few discs in and I love it already.

Quanity + Quality = AWESOME.

Somebody write a song about this swapper.

thank you no you are... so happy my incomplete downloaded cd possibilities are initiating such a big gushy grin from afar.... especially after the crummy weekend family-initiated drama i moped thru. after getting it off my chest in my blog, i feel much better and ready to deal with the new week ahead. the mailman hasn't made it past my house yet. just know i'll be happy to receive your fine fall-mix efforts and will blast your choice musical greatness to my envious riverbank neighbors. have a lovely day!! (;-D)

OK, so I'm into disc five... the set is in alphabetical order, by the way... and off the top of my head I have heard....

Band of Horses
The Black Keys
The Detroit Cobras
The Flaming Lips
Frank Sinatra

and LOADS more. The workday has flown by... now I just need somebody to send me a 10-disc swap EVERY monday.
