Oh my, you missed something. Some great songs on there, especially the Clem Snide one.

Anyway, there's also the Rhizomatic version of The Commander, and the They Might Be Giants cover Pet Name to be added to the Long Winters b-sides then.

ah. yeah. I should have known Tha Sour misses little. For punishment I shall now listen to my entire TMBG collection to learn about subtle irony. Don't expect me back any time soon.

Guys, I tease you out of LOVE!

<3 <3 LOVE!!!11

EDIT: Any album that has Death Cab for Cutie, The Long Winters, Nada Surf, and Bright Eyes on it will be in my possession the day it hits the streets.

If you peruse the Nada Surf boards archives, you'll find me begging Matthew to re-record Your Legs Grow for TWIAG rather than just release the same take (I always feel ripped off when that happens).

How do you know the song is a bside? I'm so confused....
You're exactly right with the origin of the term, but in the age of CD, a b-side has generally come to encompass s studio outtake/demo/remix/live track either released on a cd (or vinyl) single, compilation, or via the internet (whether legally or not). So, pretty much, a b-side has come to mean a track not made available on one of the band's regular issue LPs (unless it's a b-side collection), but has become available through other means.

Examples of the Long Winters variety are slim-pickin's, but would include Christmas With You Is The Best, and the live version of Mimi on the Scared Straight single. Nada Surf on the other hand, has a greater wealth of singles, from Pressure Free (taken from the Popular single) to Blue Moon (A Tribute to Big Star comp.) to All You Need Is Love (an iTunes exclusive, I believe). Get it?

I see. Thanks for the explaination. What a strange hijacking of a term, but good to know....
