I would say that's a good buy, HW. How's the recovery going?

Not heart surgery, just an angiogram, with a stent inserted...
They run a camera tube up your leg, and then insert the stent...
(Don't ask me where they cut you)

I'm mobile, with a walker, and I take 14 pills a day...
My stitches come out tomorrow, I had back surgery,
which is the reason I was in the hospital...
The heart attack was a bonus deal...

But I've spent more time with my kids, in the last 2 months,
than I have in the last 7 years,
my mp3 player has fresh batteries,
and I have the SuperBowl on TiVo...
So, there's another "reason to live...
(triple thread merge!!! Bonus points to name the other 2 threads)

Holy Christ, did you have a heart attack during the back surgery?!?!

So sorry to hear all this. Glad you're ok!

wow, now that's what I call lucky (to name yet another recent thread).

That looks like a great stent, very state-of-the-art for only 10 bucks.
Has the procedure left you with any superpowers by any chance, or is that asking a little bit too much? I mean, it would be cool if you could recharge your mp3-player batteries yourself after this whole ordeal, wouldn't it? Oh well, at least you get to have a walker!

You never want to have a heart attack, but if you HAVE to, the hospital is the place to do it.

Recover fast, man.

Oh yeah, and you know, just to make sure we make it All About Squid once again my contribution to this thread is that I just bought a new(ish) car to replace the one that I totalled. Yeah, totalled. I'm fine, but for the record trust me you do not want to get hit in the face with an airbag.

Anyhoo, this is an Actual Adult Purchase, which means I have to do other adult crap like not go to goddamn sxsw, fer fck's sake. Thank God for the tattooing, as I simply cannot spend all my money responsibly. I refuse.

Damn...
That was on my list...
It looked so cool in the video for "Living On The Edge", by Aerosmith...

Glad to hear you weren't hurt...

I was hoping for "Super Speed", but my operation was finished, by the time the radiation delivery came...

Oh well, at least you get to have a walker
Yeah, you shoulda seen me motor around the supermarket,
with my "battleship grey" walker, and my TLW "Don't Yell At Me" T-Shirt!!!

Baby Claire had the nerve to be born before my projected '07 SXSW trip, and I will hold that over her the rest of her life.

"But Daddy, that isn't fair!!"

"FAIR!!!, You know what isn't fair...
...saved up for that trip before you were even a thought....
...had to get a phone call from Jon saying 'DUDE, Ghostland is rocking my face off and you should be here'...
...tell you about fair...."

Aye. Permission to show my frivolous girly bag. I hate to pay for labels, but the multicolors and the heart tag got to me. My boys call it my Dave & Busters purse.

Not to nitpick, but I believe they're chickens. Or some other variety of non-webbed foot (footed?) fowl. Either way, hopefully they've become dinner by now so as to fully take advantage of their tender tastyness :)

Chickens! I have four. Suburban farmers are we.

There's a golden comet who really should be in a stew pot by now, but we like having her around, then a Rhode Island red (brown eggs!), a feisty americauna (green eggs! no lie) and one of my favorite breed names ever, a black sex link (eggs are brown).

The americauna has a beard and likes chasing the basset hound. It's kinda funny to watch.

And fresh eggs are delicious.
