You want to see my groceries?

Ps: quick survey - is your local Trader Joe's the hellmouth of your neighborhood? Completely odd things always happen to me when I am in the one near work. So odd.

I finally have time to add my favorite new purchase...I've been insanely busy so it's not that new anymore, but I've only had it for a month or so...

My old Timbuk messenger bag was starting to croak (I'd had it for 7 years) and it wasn't really big enough for grocery shopping/errand running on the bike, so I saved up all my hard-earned housesitting money and (after agonizing over color choices, options and of course the design) ordered myself a spiffy new bag from R.E. Load in Seattle. I absolutely love it, it's way more comfortable than the old bag and just generally awesome...

I don't have an actual picture of it due to booking online, but I think this gets the message across:

I've been so busy paying bills, I haven't really bought anything lately. So here's the last thing I bought:

Hahaha - I'll be in Paris mere hours before I take the train to Lyon and try to find my apartment with too many suitcases in tow.

I've heard good things about Douglas Coupland, but have yet to read him myself. And books are anything BUT boring.

Them are chickens.

It's the second Douglas Coupland book I've read, and I really liked both of them, so consider this another good thing to hear about him.

(Though in this book, he did put himself in as a sort of supporting character and it really really really drove me nuts. There's dialouge by other characters that goes "Man, that sounds like something that would happen in a Douglas Coupland book!" and then one of the main characters goes to China and runs into Coupland and it's all just wrong and made me angry. But aside from that, good stuff!)

(tomme, the gorgeous French mountain cheese; Dianna, you must have some in Lyon)

(from the official Tour de France boutique - we saw this cycling tour end in Briancon and it was a genuine circus - this was a gift for our friend who watered our plants while we were away)

Image
(bought this for one night only - first time ever that I stayed in a hotel with a swimming pool)

Not a really recent purchase, but I lost it for a while and I found it again, so that counts, right?

I need to start getting pedals. I don't know whether to go with a distortion pedal or an overdrive. :S

I almost bought a used DS-01 off of Craigslist for $40 with adapter, but couldn't schedule a time to meet the seller.

Tell me, Salon, distortion or overdrive pedal?
