The Guild of Scientific Troubadours Wants YOU.

Postby grant » Thu Aug 23, 2007 9:35 am

Here, I have made this thing:

http://guildofscientifictroubadours.com/

It is a place on the Internet dedicated to SONGS of SCIENCE.

I thought a few of you on here might be interested. And maybe one or two might be curious about joining the Guild.

One song a month. About science. Fame and fortune awaits!

you are surely eligible for nerd-of-the-year award.
in a good way entirely

I am now inclined to go and find weird science news so you can write a song about it. I'm keeping the pseudo science of a test of bicycle bells in the magazine of the Dutch automobile association to myself though.

Virulently?

He is an honorary troubadour, yes.

More for "Airwaves" than "She Blinded Me...," but still.

Grant darling, please to make a song about this:

Papal stargazers reach for heaven
For the second time in seven years the Vatican is hosting a scientific conference for astronomers.

I love the way Mother Church now deals with science. Took long enough, but hey.

That's a contender for a topic, for sure....

Hey Grant!

No November song?

As soon as I get a little more settled, I want to get in on this.

Thanksgiving has thrown me for a loop. Or thrown my loops - I was up until 2:30 last night trying to make fake drums behave in Reaper. I think some kind of penance is necessary, now.

You have no idea how glad I am someone has actually noticed, though.

Is done. If I had more time, I could've tweaked those drums for *days*, but part of the point of the project was to get anything up regardless of done-ness.

Very nice. Sounds a little Stone Jack Jones-esque.

Also I noticed I never commended you for "Beautiful". Every time I make a mix to fall asleep to on iTunes that is usally one of the top songs on it.

Oh, y'all are sweet.

I love being naptime music. I remember someone once working up courage to tell me that when I was in college because she was sure I'd be offended. I wasn't.

You know, I was thinking about that, but I'm leaning toward that amazing memory zapper thing now. The brain electrodes that bring back vivid moments of recall.

I love the weird stuff the Japanese astronauts are doing - there's also a proposed boomerang test, because they're not sure whether gravity is necessary to make them come back.

Funny, I'd forgotten I got the lead here (or maybe I'd already gotten it - I loves me some New Scientist), but here, a song about origami spaceplanes. Or at least about an astronaut about to throw the first one.

By the way, the boomerang came back. No one's sure why.
