Postby longtimecoming » Fri Dec 14, 2007 2:33 pm

I think the decemberists suck. i have known they have been terrorizing chris wallas pig farm for years. i have insulted them on myspace, with nadamucho helping.

their response? THEY KICKED ME OFF THEIR MYSPACE ACCNT!

COLIN, JENNY, AND the rest of the band..

THIS MEANS WAR!

I think that's fair. I wouldn't choose to keep anybody as a friend who insults me, publicly or otherwise.

Yes. Espescially not if I was a band that made intelligent, emotional sometimes-folk-y post-prog indie pop as absolutely divine as that produced by The Decemberists

I like how this kind of reads like a telegraph message: "How dare ye decembrists fan, stop." (where "fan" is a verb. also awesome)

This would also make "sissy" a type of punctuation.

I like it. Longtimey, you should really become a brilliant postmodern poet or something.

LQTM.

(I thought it sounded like a telegraph also. Does anyone remember the show "The Young Riders", which told the story of riders for the Pony Express? Because I sure do.)

yes, that one. Admittedly my knowledge comes mostly from the three Romy Schneider films, which are shown on tv here every year around x-mas.

And it so happens that in the first movie there's a scene where she climbs out of her window to send a telegram home asking her father to send her fishing gear (yes, the 19th century rebellious act for girls of her standing is to go fishing). She is then mistaken for a revolutionary, until all is cleared up and Franz Joseph falls for her independent spirit. Sob. Although admittedly, Franz Joseph is a bit of a sissy in the films.

You know Franz Joseph got so upset that the Opera House he had built in Budapest was nicer than the one in Vienna that he left the only performance he ever went to halfway through and never came back. Sissi went to that Opera house frequently, though, but never got to sit in the royal box, 'cause that'd be kind of scandalous. Oh, imperial niceties.
