My only consolation is the thought of him up in heaven smoking a huge spliff with Uncle Frank. God love him.

I can't believe that old salt was 71! I guess he'll always be, like 50, in my mind.

I used to watch him with my dad, a secret from my mom, who would never let a kid watch that filth. But my dad and I knew he was really smart and really funny. And filthy. It was awesome.

Thanks for the kodak moment, george.

The man used a verbal sledgehammer to perfection, and we need more people like him out there.

Funny. In my family, it was my mom who always sang his praises. I came to know of him as a kid by watching him as Mr. Conductor on Shining Time Station/Thomas the Tank Engine on PBS. I used to LOVE that show!

He was unique and brilliant and the world is lucky to have had him around for as long as we did.

SNL honored Carlin tonight, by showing the 1st ever episode...
It was like a "Who's who, of who's not":

Host: George Carlin (2008)
Musical Guest: Billy Preston (2006)
Guest Stars: Andy Kaufman (1984) Jim Henson (1990)
Cast: John Belushi (1982) Gilda Radner (1989)

One of the all time greatest. I'll miss him.
