It's nice when there's a music lawsuit you can really get behind, rather than just Prince's litigation of the week.

Christ, why can't McD's erroneously "borrow" some of Cap'n Jack's more exaggerated stylings for a toy of some sort? Team El-Dub needs a little litigious lovin' too.

Ideally, they'd steal something that was actually trademarked and copywrited; I can't remember seeing such a clear infringement by a huge mega-corporation.

This thread inspired me to put Devo into pandora, creating New Wave radio impromptu New Wave dance party.

Seriously! New Order, the Cars, Pet Shop Boys, Oingo Boingo....best pandora ever. When Devo wins thier lawsuit, let's have a New Wave dance party and post-punk the night away. I'll bring the Bugles.

Or the Buggles.

There's a weird line that links them to King Crimson. I can't remember it exactly, but I know it goes via Yes.

And YES DEVO WE WANT YOU YES DEVO YOU CAN DO it.

Because
they don't like American Idol
and they don't like
McDonald's.

I would also like to point out that ever since this story broke, I have been wandering around my office singing "Through Being Cool", which is pretty much the best.song.ever.

My favorite has always been "The Day My Baby Gave Me A Surprise"...

to make matters even worse for the golden arches, prince charles appearantly wants to ban it from london. i read that on the internet forum. yet who can forget when a princess took her sons there? prince harry still eats there! maybe that would be mummy one day, with my good friend known as the heir, and our reandevous on the internet.

Oddly enough, by coincidence I was talking about "(I Saw My Baby Gettin') Sloppy" with a guy on livejournal right before I read this news bulletin. Must mean something.

He says he likes that song because it's like it's written backwards. I think there's something to that.

i especially appreciate this quote from the article:

"They didn't ask us anything. Plus, we don't like McDonald's, and we don't like American Idol, so we're doubly offended."

i couldn't agree more!
