Mama Biden Says Knock You Out

I wish my dad was here tonight. But I thank God and I'm grateful that my mom, Catherine Eugenia Finnegan Biden, is here tonight.

...

As a child, I stuttered, and she lovingly would look at me and tell me, "Joey, it's because you're so bright you can't get the thoughts out quickly enough."

When I was not as well-dressed as the other kids, she'd look at me and say, "Joey, oh, you're so handsome, honey, you're so handsome."

And when I got knocked down by guys bigger than me -- and this is the God's truth -- she sent me back out and said, "Bloody their nose so you can walk down the street the next day." And that's what I did.

That made me pause, but I suppose it sheds some light on his debate style.

Definitely speaks to the multiple generations dude is looking to serve, no? Hmm.

As I said before though, this Con is bumming me out.

Exactly.

That's pretty low, appeal to your base by running a hot chick. I'm terrified this will work.

Maybe it's because I'm older, but I was thinking the singer from Quarterflash, Rindy Ross...

amazing how these elections go from cliffhanger to cliffhanger, and I cannot help but think that perhaps a bunch of television writers went to work for campaign teams during last winter's writing strike

Is Walter Mondale:

A) Beating his head against the kitchen sink, yelling "Why didn't anyone tell me,
they wanted one of Charlie's Angels to be my running mate!?!?"

B) Waiting for someone to use the word "crutch", so he can LHAO?

C) Dead

HAD he selected Tina Fey, I mighta hadta vote for the old man again. [[I will admit I did write him in during the 2000 election - you know, back when Jerry Fallwell was an "agent of intolerance", back when he was a champion of campaign finance reform and when the Bush/Rove tactics were "less than honorable".]]

Not this time, no matter how many Miss Alaska runner-ups he puts on the ticket.

Besides, Michelle is foxier anyway.

And now it turns out Palin's daughter is one of America's many unwed pregnant teens. Apparently McCain knew about this before he chose Palin as a running mate but I am willing to bet there are some mighty angry Christian Coalition types out there tonight.

Hmm, between the disgruntled Hillary supporters (some of whom, from what I've seen, still haven't made up their minds) and the disgruntled GOPers who don't trust McCain we've got a hell of lot of wobbly votes out there...they might all give up and move to Canada. Run, Sour, Run!

Was her name really Rindy? Why didn't I remember that? What the hell is that a nickname for? I DO remember the spandex capri pants, and of course, the saxophone.

Rindy's not short for anything...
Also, she's a Portland girl...

Oh, no - exactly the opposite! I've got some of those types in my extended family, and... um... well.... They're people who believe that life-changing mistakes happen.

They probably know more than a few families with pregnant teenagers. And they believe in babies. Lots of babies. Babies are blessings in disguise, you know - little angels straight from God. This is a positive thing for many of the evangelical core voters, I think. She's one of them.

Hmm, meaning that they forgive the pre-marital sex part and instead applaud her for not getting an abortion and getting married now? Innnnnnnnnnnnteresting!

here I was thinking that Palin's 4 months old baby must be the youngest family member ever to be exploited in a presidential campaign, but the unborn grandchild sure breaks that record

and am I being very conservative if I think that perhaps this might be a time as a parent not to take on a job that is guaranteed to call for very long working hours?
