life's a joke but no one is laughing

Although in general I love life and find a spark of light in most situations, sometimes I find life is a cruel, cruel joke.

Most of you who I have swapped with have received a mix including Dutch band Club Diana. I loved their own stance, their complete lack of interest in commercial success. They would make a record if they felt it was time for a new record, they would only do the shows they really wanted to do. And they were a bunch of sweet and generous guys. Now their singer chose to leave this world, seeing no way out.

The only thing I can think of that makes any sense is to pass on his legacy, feeling that if perhaps one person might get a little something out of it, it makes a tiny bit of sense out of a crappy, crappy situation.

I'm listening to Sushi vs. Burgerking right now. Pretty catchy stuff. Sounds a bit like grunge-y REM. I likes. I'm sorry to hear about this. :(

hm, would never have thought of REM myself, but then again they remind me of Guided by Voices and my husband tells me I'm crazy for thinking so.

In the chorus medley mostly, but also the singers phrasing. Very Stipe-ish.

2:01 - listen to the way he says (something like) "This is where cows comes in". Close your eyes and really listen to it. ;)

I don't know any Guided By Voices, but you might be more right than I.
