Your biography in one quote

Postby Moni » Tue Jun 24, 2003 12:36 pm

Or two.
You get bonus points if the quote is not from a song...

"A true friend always stabs you in the front."
Oscar Wilde

here's mine:

huck: "Een blaasinstrumentenhuiskamerpoppareltje van jewelste."

it's what they'll put on my headstone, that's for darn sure.

(for why this post is hi-larious, see the "does anybody know dutch" thread in the swoon section) (okay, it's actually not funny at all. but at least i try! I TRY, goddammit!!)

nevermind me. no really, don't.

"I have said that my grandfather was and always had been a mysteriarch, never a philanthropist of the mind, not a restorer of wounded psyches. In no way did he take a therapeutic approach with the inmates at the sanitarium. He did not view them as souls that were possessed, whether by demons or by their own painful histories, but as beings who held a strange alliance with other orders of existence, who contained within themselves a particle of something eternal, a golden speck of magic which might be enlarged. Thus, his ambition led him not to relieve his patients' madness, but to exasperate it—to let it breathe with a life of its own. And this he did in certain ways that wholly eradicated what human qualities remained in these people." -- Thomas Ligotti, "Dr. Locrian's Asylum"

Miss, if I'm not mistaken, you are being attacked by the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. I would look out for that if I were you. Doesn't box as well as the Hatteras Lighthouse, but did quite a number on the one at Currituck.

Good one, Sean.
It's even worse because I was also a former student of the cinematic arts.

*thud*

I didn't even get to roll down the hill. I fell from the lofty summit of academia to the hard, cold earth.

Oh, but I'm not bitter, no way. (:
