I put music in quotations because if you really don't want anyone to know that you like it... it probably hardly counts as music.
What tunes do you secretly listen to? What music do you have in a hidden folder on your shared computer? What songs do you sing and dance to when they come on in the grocery store?
Me, I TOTALLY dig really crappy 90's dance music ... Like, the horrible stuff that you used to dance to on the front yard with while blasting your Jock Jams tapes. I have quite the secret collection of crap on vinyl, cassette, CD, AND mp3. La Bouche, anyone?
Fess up your love for Anne Murray, Phil Collins, or those adorable little Jonas brothers. Your secret is safe with me.

Re: guilty pleasure ("music" style)
Most of my guilty pleasures are by Dutch artists that none of you ever heard of. But I'm not afraid to admit that Leo Sayer's Orchard Road has shaped my life profoundly and any Bon Jovi tune will make my day in the supermarket. Neither of those is in my music collection, however, but John Denver's Greatest Hits is. Leaving on a Jetplane, what a classic...

Rick f'n Springfield...
It's got a lot of power, and hooks that make you wanna scream...
Also, I was never a fan of YES, until after I saw "Almost Famous", now I can't get enough...
There's something about that song "Bye Bye Bye" by NSYNC, that is evil, but I just can't turn away...
I also love a lot of the old K-Tel stuff, those 70's vinyl compilations, like "Muhammed Ali, the Black Superman", "Run Joey Run", "Chevy Van" "Keep Dancin" and "Get Down tonight"...
PS- Phil Collins is not a guilty pleasure, the man was a genius, up untill "No Jacket Required"...

Re: guilty pleasure ("music" style)
I will stand up and shout to the world my love for 90's swing. Pop in some Indigo Swing, Royal Crown Revue, or Brian Setzer, or Big Bad Vodoo Daddy, or Alien Fashion Show, or Lee Press-On & The Nails, or The Mighty Blue Kings, and I'm all for throwing down my show-offy, poorly executed, ECS or Lindy moves in my Gap khakis.
I will say some of the above bands aren't fantastic, but a couple of them still are (Indigo Swing and RCR).

That was my first thought, too. Phil Collins was the first cassette I ever owned.

Genius? I don't know about that. But I'm a Gabriel-era girl, so I'm biased no matter what. It causes much strain in this household.
Husband: "Did you see the article today about how Phil Collins had to have emergency surgery and now he can't drum anymore?"
Me: "Phil Collins could drum?"

LOL I know, I know. I'm a jerk. I don't really mean it.
And I actually have the vinyl version Duke framed in my kitchen... along with the vinyl of When I Pretend to Fall, too.

I was joking too, but I'm still kinda mad about the whole Disney thing, and of course, "Sussudio"...
But unless I see a pic of Duke, framed, I'm gonna hafta call "shenanigans"...

Do you have the Genesis DVD of all their music videos? Fun drinking game: take a swig whenever Collins has a moustache or stupid hat, or Mike Rutherford is pretending to play the trumpet.
As for Shenanigans, I'll do you one better, and show you G through L on my 12" record shelf. Photobucket scaled it down, but it gets the point across.

p.s. please do not make fun of my Kenny Loggins.
