Merlin fans take note. The Kaiser of Nerds himself was recently immortalized in a Stranger article, written by none other than our own Sean Nelson.

interesting article, I thought
more interesting than bacon, in my humble opinion.
for the record, meeting someone through the internet can lead to marriage.
but then me and my husband weren't looking for a date, we just happened to share a love for similar music that connected us first online and then in real life :-)

live a wonderful life.
you can eat vegetables, beans, nuts, dairy products (if your not vegan), quorn, so who needs soy to be a vegetarian?
unless you miss the taste of meat so much, that you need soy products that pretend they are meat.
with all the taste additives that make you wonder if meat is still really meat, seeing how they can make a spunge-like material taste like meat pretty well nowadays
sorry, I always get a tiny bit defensive about being a vegetarian.
comes from living in France for a while, they even considered chicken and ham to not really be meat.

I hear that sentiment a lot and it depresses me. Vegetarians are too often haters. I like soy products. Sometimes they taste like meat. Usually they taste like soy products. The heck ever. Eat food that pleases you.

Yes, there are some things I hate, which is why I became a vegetarian in the first place. I hate killing millions of animals not because they are carrying a disease, but to restore consumer confidence in the meat product and I hate overfishing by big western trailers in faraway fishing grounds putting local fishermen out of business, to mention a few.
I actually like some soy products, but I was pointing out that you don't need soy for a balanced diet. And I do know people who eat meat-like soystuff so they don't miss the taste of meat, and if that makes them eat meat less, I'm all for it.
The hugging theory is interesting, but leaves me with some question marks: snails (too slippery?), lobster (too dangerous?), lamb (too cute?)
