One time my yard flooded and after it receded, we found dead catfish. Catfish. In my freaking yard. We don't even have a pond.

"the spot on the globe that gets the highest annual rainfall is on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. When is the last time you heard someone complain about the weather in Hawaii? Average annual rainfall in Seattle is 39 inches—on Kauai it tops 450 inches."

a "web.ask" link about the highest rainfall

We have a winner!
The city of Hilo on the Big Island of Hawai'i (east coast) is the rainiest city of the US, whereas the top of Wai'ale'ale mountain (Kaua'i) is one of the rainiest spots on Earth. You can see the top of this mountain only about 30 times a year, otherwise it's always cloudy.
My initial post was thus referringh to Hilo.
LngWntrsetc., you've won a cookie.

We wouldn't want to get ridiculous.

Just a side note, The reputation for buffalo NY's crappy weather is exaggerated. We have more sunny days per year than most of the eastern sea board including DC, NYC, Baltimore and Atlanta. And the midnorthwest states get more snow per year than we ever do. Id just like to clarify. Buffalo rules.

Lets all lust after a SUNY student in mousy brown hair taking out the garbage in long underwear.
