Unfortunately, no. Fingers are the only other option.

You may, however, eat guacamole with a spoon.

in my book stuff out of jars is preferably scooped out with a knife.
it takes some getting used to, and the knife should not be of the sharp variety, but the pleasure is gratifying

if I was Grant I would include a picture of the kind of knife I'm talking about (and possibly a jar), but I'm not so I wouldnt know where to look.

Goodness. I'd never admit to such a thing in open company.

Using a snuff spoon, perhaps. In extremis.

But a jam knife?

Emily Post would not approve.

Leftover salsa is best enjoyed as a seasoning on other foods... perhaps even as a salad dressing. If it is particularly thick, add a few drops of water to thin it.

oh yes, exactly the right kinda knife!
Although mine don't have those beautifully crafted handles...
And since I don't really care for salsa, it's usually peanutbutter or nutella in my jars, but that's not really relevant here.

I love the word jam knife. But Grant, oh Grant, a snuff spoon cannot be used for moist food! It would be perfect however for stealing from the sugarpot, or to eat hagelslag, the chocolate sprinkles we Dutch people eat on our bread which most other people in this world would refer to as cake topping...

A close friend of mine made it all the way through medical school living only on salsa sandwiches. That's two slices of wheat bread and... salsa!

well, see, that's kinda the problem. i have waaaaaaay too many tomatoes and peppers right now, so i made this unbelievably yummy salsa that i have become completely addicted to and i can't seem to keep myself in vehicles for salsa. it's really a big problem in my life right now and i really appreciate all the support and suggestions from y'all. you really came through for me with this whole salsa issue. and maybe some other people out there who are suffering the same way i was but who were too afraid to ask for help will stumble upon this thread and be helped as well.

*sniff*

secret recipe? i wish i knew...like i said i just had way too many tomatoes and peppers ...that's what comes of being associated with a csa farm, i guess...and i couldn't just let them rot in my fridge (ok, so a few of them rotted) and the next thing i know i'm a salsa addict.

i just made a fresh batch, which i have to admit is sadly a little lighter on the peppers than the last batch. y'all are invited over to my place to help me eat it, but bring yer own damn chips!
