Bands/singers you really tried to like - without success
(topic stolen from murmurs.com)
Counting Crows (Pat McCarthy, uh...)
Starsailor (what a waste of time)
Rolling Stones (not bad, but I just never got into them)
And I’m not sure if I like Grant Lee Buffalo... but I do like GLP’s Mobilize though, that’s for sure. I guess Jubilee wasn’t the right album to get started (but it was only $5.99!). Will have to try some more.

big star huge influence on two of my fave bands (posies & teenage fanclub), one of my husbands faves and I just don't get really get it.
weird thing is, I like the solo stuff!
the replacements my husband's fave so it gets played, but I don't get it.
having said that, I do love Tommy Stinson's solo stuff, if only he didn't play with G 'n R...
postal service such great songs, but where are the guitars? I miss 'em anyway[/i]

i agree w/him. altho it's not so much that i have tried to like a band, it went more like this...John wrote:Too numerous to mention.
i hear a hype about a band...i'll pick ones recently...the yeah yeah yeahs or taking back sunday. so there's this huge hype, everyone's talking about them, all the kids love them and then i hear them...and the reaction goes something like this....*start scene* "ARE YOU SERIOUS??!?!?! THIS IS THEM?!?!? THIS IS CRAP!!!" *end scene*
so there are 2 bands i really don't like and don't understand why anyone else does.
thank you *bows*

still anything billy corgan has ever been involved in. i just don't get the guy, plain and simple. and i guess i should like pearl jam a lot more than i do... starsailor is a subject i do not wish to get started on, tho i have to admit that i did like them for about five minutes just after alcoholic was released.

great news
up until last week, i would have said led zeppelin, but thanks to my band mates, i have now listened to "houses of the holy" all the way through twice and i actually genuinely liked it, except for the singing and the lyrics and (some of) the music. really!
also:
not for nothing, but i fucking hate guns n roses*, acdc*, the eagles*, bruce springsteen*, and rush. (*=one or two songs notwithstanding)
i do not hate, but merely dislike pink floyd (post barrett), the police, and U2, except for some hits.
and after two or so years as a long winter, i can honestly say, for the first time in my life, that i am a fan of zz top and van halen.
thank you.
