Just thought I should let the guys know that Colin Meloy of the Decemberists seem to call out to the LWs last night...something like "Tell the Long Winters that we're after them." He then went on to mention how there are 5 Decemberists, and 4 Long Winters. And how the girls in the Decemberists are tuff. I can only assume he meant t-u-f-f, tuff. Not that I'm worried. I'm pretty sure that the guys can take 'em. And I also think that Meloy got John's last name wrong...but that could just be that I don't hear so well.

I was the girl with the red bow in her hair at the Croc last night, BTW. Not that wearing bows in my hair is a habbit. It just seemed like the right kind of celebration for turning in a proposal and a take-home final in the same week. :)

I saw the Decemberists this past Saturday in Chicago and it was like religion, only without the nasty aftertaste or damaging sociopolitical effects.

The degree to which I am in love with that band -- and the performance that I bore humble, bowed-head witness to -- is unable to be described in human language. (Un)Fortunately, Colin did not make any threats to the well-being of TLW during said act; equally (un)fortunate is the fact that I'd probably put my money on the Decemberists, if we're talkin' alleyway rumble.
Call me a sucker, but I'm a huge proponent of feisty lady accordion players with a penchant for striped socks.
