What's your ringtone?

Post by smelllikelime »

So yesterday, I finally got one of those nifty new phones that I can download custom ringtones on. It's also the kind that slides open, how fucking cool is that?!

I've already downloaded three different tones:

"Power of Love" by Huey Louis and the News
"Toxic" by Britney Spears
the "What's Happening!" theme song

Kick ass. What's yours?

I used to have "bandages" by hot hot heat just to annoy the shit out of everyone who was around me when my phone rang. now I've got a different phone and I need the internet on the phone to download ringtones and I was all like, "eff that shit. I ain't got $15 extra to spend a month." so I have a boring ring.

I've got a rather ancient nokia and I don't have the option for all these fancy downloadable ring tones so I've got one that I believe is called simply 'Bee.' Assorted roommates think it's annoying, but I always hear it and it's not really common so I don't go for my phone whenever everyone elses' rings...boring but functional, I guess.

When I move to New Mexico in 4 months I can get a fancy new phone (or I can be cheap as usual and go for whichever model is free :)

What's Happening theme song ringtone? AWESOME!

I'm of the school of grumpy normal beep ringtones, that way, whenever someone's phne rings, there's a possibility that it might be mine. haha.

I've been thinking about a tune ringtone though, I must admit, and I think it might be The Final Countdown.

Either that or something by Ozzy Osborne.

i also have the cheap model (motorola, though, not nokia).

the ringtone setting i have it on is called "cosmic" which was picked for the same reasons new girl picked her's: it's annoying and rare.

i miss my old nokia that had the "beep" ring tone. it sounded like this:

beep... BEEP beep BEEP... BLEEBLOPBLEECRAZYANDSOONBEEP

Everytime I have a phone call, I am informed by Steely Dan's "Reelin' in the Years.' It's soooo radical!!!

I purposely chose to not have ringtones, a camera, games or anything that's not phone-centric on my cell. Its a phone! I want it to ring, and I want to answer it. DEATH TO CAMERA PHONES! I also agree with Carson: Your cell phone is NOT an accessory.

If tia carrere had adapted the song for Gameboy(the original one), that's about how it sounds.

Nuh-uh. The cell phone is the new earring.

But what I really need is stock quotes on my watch...

I curse you, my 3oz cellular phone.

because I can't get ringtones, either, unless I get the internet. which I won't. but FUCK! for "push it"? that $15 seems worth it.

I find that the only ring-tones that really come across intelligibly are 80's synth-pop and Hip Hop and I am neither disturbed enough to have "Sweet Dreams (are made of this)" nor am I funk-a-delic enough to pull of "Big Pimpin'"

my phone goes Ring Ring
which is an Abba song, but somehow my phone doesn't sound like the original

in fact I don't use my phone much and get called even less, so I don't even know my sound very well.

all I can say to Betty: Final Countdown, no way.
my colleague had that ringtone, and it annoys from the very first time,
even when the song itself is of course brilliant beyond compare.
