I've never understood the Iowa version of the chomp. They started that in the mid 90s and it still kinda baffles me. I understand that it is supposed to be a beak, but c'mon, let's do our own thing.

I understand getting whupped in a bowl game sucks, but it wasn't like we were some crap team. Tell you what, though, the Florida fans took it well and were classy, unlike some I have seen. Lot to be proud of down there, despite an off year.

No, obviously not, and I didn't mean to insinuate otherwise. But, like, we did beat the team that ended up being national (co-)champion. We were getting arrogant. Iowa 100% deserved to win that game.

Hey, were you there? I was out there at halftime, spinning my flag with Gator Band. I was likely the only LWs fan on the field.

Classy? You should have seen us after the 2003 FSU game. We can be poor losers with the worst of them when we're angry enough.

Yeah, I was there. I work for the athletic dept, so heading off to work at Bowl games in Florida is a really rough aspect of employment. Why couldn't I just work 11-hour shifts in a factory?!?

And all college FB fans can be bad (Hawks included), but some make a habit of it.

NYA,

I was totally upset that Chuck Long didn't go farther with his NFL career.
He was my favorite college QB.

As a young lad, I always fought with other kids in the neighborhood on who would get to "be" Chuck Long when we played sandlot FB. I would usually be Long, while my best friend would be Ronnie Harmon.

I guess that is why we were best fiends.

hahahahaha. Da Coach.

Once I tried to pretend I knew something about football as an excuse to talk to this hot guy in college. I completely betrayed my football ignorance by mentioning Ditka, totally unaware that he hadn't been the Bears coach for three or four years at that point. Betty's An Idiot moment #307.

The worst part is, I might have pulled it off if it wasn't for the Ditka comment... which, in my opinion was an understandable mistake considering the ditka insanity here. You are led to believe that he's still the coach. He's still smiling down on us from myriad billboards, offering buckets of slot machine coins and auto detailing and viagra.

At least I never tried to lie about football again. Ditka made me an honest women.

So, the guy ran away after such a simple mistake... he's an idiot...

I've never heard of any ditka's... Am I still welcome here?

Who would win? Barak Obama and a Tornado vs. Ditka?

Begging to differ, The BUCCANEERS had nothing until recently, but their fans
are most rabid...
ANYONE who's followed a team for over 15 years with Errol Flynn as
their "Menacing Mascot" on the helmet, gets my vote...

Ever been to a BROWNS game????
Don't go in a Steelers jersey...

However, when it comes to baseball,
Betty, your Cubbies fans take the cake...
Even over the bleacher psychos at Yankee
*cough, baberuthwasafatdrunk, cough* Stadium...

They ever castrate that fan who screwed it up for the Cubs last season?

Rich, it's cute that they have the same cheer as a baseball team you like or whatever... but Seminole fans make Baby Jesus cry.

Rich, I can't talk about football. I don't even know what cities those teams are from. I suspect you are probably wrong about the fans though. There are always nutty fans, but...honestly...the Bears fan thing is a phenomenon that defies description.

@ cubs.

FIRST OF ALL, they are not MY cubs fans. I hate the cubs. Steve Bartman is a hero. (but he had to move out of the state and rumor has it he had to change his name, etc. witness protection services style.)

Secondly, it's not "cubs fans" no such thing. They are "cubs jerks" and they suck. They don't actually like baseball. They like being members of the Wrigley Social Club. No one actually watches the game at Wrigley. They just drink, hit on eachother, and talk on the phone.

Go White Sox.

Couldn't agree more. I've always said Cub fans are the worst fans in the world. Most of the people in Wrigley are there to drink beer in public and sit in the sun.

Wrigley Social Club is the best term I have ever heard.

Thing is, they dont want to win. They like being the "lovable losers". Case in point, their love for Sammy Sosa. He's killing their team. Hits meaningless solo home runs when they are down 4-0, strikes out WAAAY too much and is quite possibly the worst defensive outfielder in the game. Seriously.

But cuz he has a pretty smile he is cool. Never mind the fact that he is a cheater. Um, corked bad incedent anyone? And take a look at the pictures of him when he was with the Rangers and Sox. Skinny singles hitter. Now, he's a tank. You be the judge.
