This IS hard. Favorite song of all time? What's the criteria? Is it that one song where you have to stop collaborate & listen, and sing? At first guess, it would be Laid by James. Who doesn't like that song?

you know what, of all time is way too freaking hard. maybe it should be changed to "most favorite song of the stuff ive been listening to lately"

This has always been an easy question for me:
Street Spirit by Radiohead.

"the weight" by the band.

it's the only favorite anything i've ever been able to pick. it's the only constant. it's my "C".

if we started another thread entitled "songs that make you cry like a baby" then "i felt your shape" would be my #1 song.

so true, almost every song by the microphones is horribly, yet beautifully depressing

it's impossible, for me at least, to truly choose my most favorite song of all time. but "real love," the 1995 beatles song, comes damn close.

favorite song of the moment? probably "new slang" by the shins

idrankhemlock, you have EXCELLENT taste in music.
i think i'm a bit fonder of King of Carrot Flowers Pt. 1
but virtually every NMH song does it for me. Jeff Mangum
is brilliant.

As for my "Favorite Song" at this moment, i would
have to say...

Oh, i hate this game. i'm no good at it.

1. Photobooth. Death Cab. (Thanks, Love)
2. Red Right Ankle. The Decemberists. (A near second)

Ever:
"When I'm 64," the Beatles
"Song About a Star," Okkervil River
"Viceburgh," Lifter Puller

I actually took five minutes musing over this, when I should have known it's bloody impossible to choose one. Forget it.
I might be able to bring it down to a top 10, maybe a top 5.

Absolutely in it would be Prague by Mega City Four.
Most likely also The Lover's Hymn by Ken Stringfellow.
Over My Head by Grant Hart. Or Admiral of the Sea. Or 2541. Or...

You know what the trouble is with these things? Some artists are so good, that to choose just one song is impossible. Impossible!

I am going to go with anthropomorphizing kitty, Street Spirit by Radiohead is my favorite all time song.

Even though my daily favorite song changes, I always come back to this song.

liesbeth your right. i didnt think it would be so hard when i was first asking, well....because...i wasnt thinking to hard. then after i re read it a few times i thought how could anyone answer with only one song? but appearently there are some out there that can, just not me. everytime someone puts something down i think damn i should have said that or why did i forget all about that one.
