I will be with you until you lose your breath
Jeff Magnum's publicist once said the only way you could get him to play a show was with a time machine.idrankhemlock wrote:thats not a bad idea, im up for it. im sure we could persuade them.

it's true, apparently. I'm going to be in athens in two weeks.. if I see him riding his bicycle around town, I'll beg and cry and tell him it's my one last waking wish.

for stars - 'lend out your love' & 'it doesn't really matter' & 'field of fire'
no favorite song of all time, but these are really good and i can't wait till 'it falls apart' comes out, but i still have to wait till the end of june. how dare they. i could probably just rundown my mp3 playlist, cause that's all i've been listening to lately that i really like. some others:
hold steady - the swish
systems officer - signature red
eh, there are others but i don't feel like listing them all here. favorite song of all time is pretty hard because it usually depends on what album i've listened to most recently and how it affected me. but john vanderslice 'time trave is lonely' is probably my favorite album of all time, and if i listen to the whole thing all the way through and haven't gotten a little teary eyed by the final piano plinking of 'gainesville, fla.' then i've grown cold and dead inside. fortunately i loaned it to my friend a year ago and never got it back, so i can't find out the potentially frightening truth by testing out my theory.

Re: I will be with you until you lose your breath
If you see him riding around town, you might mistake him for a homeless guy (many people do). Why are you going to Athens? Sometimes I miss that place so much.hovering wrote:it's true, apparently. Back on topic, I would say my favorite songs (that I can think of right now) are:
"Waterloo Sunset" by the Kinks
"Surrender" by Cheap Trick
"Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts" by Bob Dylan (Actually, just about anything on Blood on the Tracks, but I have an immense soft spot for that song. It's just so over-the-top.)
"Big Mouth Strikes Again" by the Smiths
"Supersonic" by Oasis (best single of the '90s, IMHO)
But when you get right down to it, "Waterloo Sunset" always wins.

going to atlanta for the decemberists/long winters show, but driving to athens the day before to go to the grit and transmetropolitan and explore. is there ONE place in athens I need to go before I die? if so, communicate, fellow heather (you know, you're 215 [I think?].. I'm 407)
I met a guy in atlanta once that was like "I kept seeing this homeless man on a bike who looked JUST like jeff mangum" and I reminded him that hello, it probably was jeff mangum. so it's funny that you mention that.
