"I Was Bitten By An Emu" and other melodramatic ta

Yes, I was actually bitten by an emu. My across the cul de sac neighbor, Janet, raised emu for meat. One day I was sitting on the front steps, talking to a friend when I noticed an emu standing amongst the rosebushes. I hung up the phone and foolishly approached the emu, hoping to shoo it back to its pen, instead it bit me on the finger. I then retreated to the house where I called another neighbor who had previously raised emu and ostrich to round it up and return it to its home.

So, how hard do they bite?

Pretty hard. It didn't seem to be attacking me, it just seemed curious and happened to grab onto my finger. It didn't draw blood but I was bruised and swollen for a while.

Hit by a deer, bitten by an emu... what's with all these animal-cruelty threads?.......

Reminds me of the X-Files episode "Our Town", which ironically aired when Europe (well Britain actually) was hit by the CFJ-cow issue, whatever the operative term in English for that may be...

Chicken killing bastards. I can't look at a Tyson processing plant without thinking of that. And you all know how much I like to look at Tyson processing plants.

I've had Cat Scratch Fever.

Yes, kids, it's not just a song. It's an actual affliction. No joke. From what I remember, it just involved swollen glands and all that. Nothing exciting.

Speaking of Cat Scratch Fever, they should do a cover of it. Good times.

Ha!

I too, was bitten by an emu! It happened multiple times while visiting Australia. A cruel turn of luck in what originated as an attempt to feed the tricky bastards.

Emu's are damned sly.

I dated a girl who'd had cat scratch fever.

She left me for a guy who lived in vancouver, BC.

She introduced me to pad thai first, though, so I am not bitter about it.

Also, I once stepped in a yellow jacket nest.

i've had cat scratch fever as well, involving some swollen lymph nodes near my elbows....very strange.

kittens...damn them.

musically speaking, covering catch scratch fever is a possibility, but i think zz top will surface on a setlist before the nuge. besides, we still have to learn hot for teacher. that first practice at the croc the other day was a doozy....

and why, pray tell, when i put two spaces between sentences, does this board truncate it to one?

my cats (see: belle, sebastian, and oliver [no, not named after the psycho from the OC.]) sleep on my head. a few months ago, i woke up and had some weird burning feeling on my forehead. i looked in the mirror and it appeared to me that freddy kruger freed himself from my mattress and scratched the fuck out of my face. but no, it was the kittens.

yet still, i cannot force myself to hate them.

why was this important? because it's 12:15 in the AM and i had six cups of coffee two hours ago.

I got bitten by a squirrel once. I don't think it meant any harm. I was feeding it some peanuts and it must have thought my thumb was an especially large, tasty one. It didn't draw blood, but I practically had to swing the sucker around my head before it let go.
