I mean, it's a great day!

Postby Squid » Fri Sep 14, 2007 9:57 am

- we have a board birthday (i like how i almost always refer to this as a "List" and then i have to go back and type "Board". This happens because I am "old".)

- my hungover little eyes were bloodshot this a.m. It was alarming. I remember one of the Replacements being described as having eyes "like cherries floating in a vat of milk". It was like that. But now they've cleared up. it's a great day!

- i started a Pandora station with OMD as the mainstay. They kept throwing bad, late period Erasure and Pet Shop Boys at me, and I kept vetoing until I was out of vetoes for the hour and I was left powerless, as The Politics of Dancing started playing. Christ, do you remember that song?? The Politics of fcking dancing? Are you serious? it's horrendous. but at least they haven't played the Information Society yet. It's a great day!

- Every time someone sends me a link about britney, I send them a link about Edith Piaf. Like this. Thus making it a great day.

I'd like to hear why others are having a great day. It can't be all about me all the time, you know.

Well, you made me laugh: starting a station with OMD and then not expecting 80s synth thrown at you? Anyway, Politics of Dancing was one of the better songs of the era imho.

other than that I will be quiet about my day so as not to spoil all your undoubtedly brilliant days.

That'd be me...
With regards to bad music, my mp3 player is chock full of what some/most people would call "horrid"...
Such as:
"Heartbeat" (It's A Lovebeat)-The DeFranco Family
"Fox On The Run"/"Little Willy"-Sweet
"Saturday Night"-Bay City Rollers
"Run Joey Run"-David Geddes
"Pop Muzik"-M
Etc., and so forth...

This stuff is lyrically/musically tragic, and it makes me laugh every time I play it...
For I lived in an era once known as the "K-Tel Age"...

Your OMD chatter sent me into a Google fit, as it sounded familiar but I couldn't for the life of me figure out who it was. (Huzzahs for being 7 and under in the 80's plus mom's love of the Eagles.)

Wikipedia became my friend, and after finding out who OMD is and why I recognized the name, I found Dalek I Love You, which has brought on nerdy laughter.

I just watched a House MD marathon. I am prepping to start a new job on Monday. Today isn't quite a great day for me, but it's not bad.
