Hmm. I wonder what that sounds like. Having no basis of comparison, my imagination falters..[...]I was more comfortable chatting amiably with Alan Parsons than I would have been smoking a "jay", or doing "the frug", with most of the bands who are nominally my peers in the music world. For that reason alone I hereby promise to make the next Long Winters record sound like a thousand weasels being shot out of a cannon.

Wow, Alan Parsons! I was 12 when Eye in the Sky came out and I think this was the first time I played an album over and over (I actually had my brother record it on tape front and back after I got bored with rewinding my tape every night).
I had no idea he had recorded all these famous bands though, and totally had him down for being American... the latter could be because I read all the Little House on the Prairie books during one school holiday, with this one tape as musical background. I must admit that later on I would think of his music as somewhat of a guilty pleasure - in the black 80s and indie 90s it was not very hip to admit liking such dramatic stuff.
