I think it's high time we paid some attention to one of the strangest creatures on this earth: the platypus. Yesterday it became clear that, yes:
Platypus genome is as weird as its looks
Good news:
The draft genome sequence should also help to end the platypus's identity crisis.

I did! But then again I have a husband who loves platypuses. It's only the male species who have it though.
I love its Dutch name
vogelbekdier , which means 'bird beak animal'.

The german name is a little less spectacular, it's just Schnabeltier (beak-animal). Sorry for the letdown.
Oh and,
