I'm about 20 miles from the Lego factory and the original Legoland as we speak... which totally saved my childhood. I even had a brief stint as a test builder (get free lego, build lego, answer questions on paper, keep lego) - but i got dumped for some reason. If anybody feel the urge to assemble a model of the Red Baron triplane i got an extra in an unopened box still lying around.Betty Felon wrote:Denmark created Legos. I will be forever grateful.

I know I'm not the first to do it, but I'm posting from a public library in rural Japan! Woohoo!

(couldn't post from Calabria - the place where we stayed was just a little too strange/remote, I guess :)

Hello from Mhlambanyatsi (try to pronounce that!), Swaziland!
Just wanna say, Kruger Park/ZA is amazing. Saw 3 lions with a Giraffe they had killed that day, right beside the road, an a gazillion other amazing animals.

OMG so cool. How long does it take to get to Swaziland from Austria, exactly? And did it involve riding elephants and being in canoes ? Please say yes.

You romantic soul, you think Moni's message came to us by drum messages and smoke signals, don't you? Mhlambanyatsi defintely sounds like a cool place to post from though!
Once again I hadn't the faintest urge to go into an internet cafe on my holidays, because I was too busy eating pinxtos and enjoying the sun, but Basque Country was a great place nonetheless. We didn't run into any predators, but my husband saw two guys in hoodies spray painting an ETA logo on a wall in Bilbao (we later saw they even tagged the cathedral), two days after the attack that killed two policemen on Mallorca. Sickening. Everyone else we encountered was extremely kind though.
And on a positive note, hubbie also saw the LW live dvd in the Bilbao branch of FNAC.

Oh, we're huge in Bilbao. I've always had the best time in Basque country, the best food, the nicest people, but I've been hoping for twenty years of going there that I would ever see two guys in hoodies spray-painting ETA on a building and never have. That's a genuine moment of witness to a (hopefully) dying era.

I did ride an ostrich in Oudtshoorn :) Man those birds are fast. And tasty. So are Kudus!Squid wrote:OMG so cool. How long does it take to get to Swaziland from Austria, exactly? And did it involve riding elephants and being in canoes ? Please say yes.

Re: Strange Places to Post From
Heh no :)
4,500 kilometers later, I'm back home :(
Coming up next: 475 pictures of the Table Mountain in clouds, without any clouds, with just a few clouds, with a little more clouds, in sunny conditions and not so sunny conditions. Also, more antelopes than you can shake a stick at!
Just kidding. I want us to stay friends. :)

Did you eat goat cheese in Stellenbosch? Everyone talks about the wine, but it's the cheese!
Pecorino like cheddar.

Sadly, we hardly got to see any cheese during our whole trip. But I've developed a taste for Kudu biltong. Very yummy.
PS. I did NOT eat any endangered species.

Buenas tardes!
Posting from the ¨Austrian Rainforest¨ (http://www.regenwald.at/de/home.html) in Costa Rica. After getting a heavy sunburn during a (very succesful) dolphin watching tour, it´s now time for our dailz rainshower. Oh and the first 2 days in the mountains were asskicking cold. Also, the y´s and z´s on these keyboard are not in the right place.

In 2001 I was refused entry to Bosnia (I didn't have a visa) ended going to Montenegro instead. (Nowadays Bosnia has waived the visa requirement for citizens of my country, may be a good time to visit). I've always wanted to visit Banja Luka, I wonder how the city looks like, what places are trendy, what type of food is served, how does downtown look like...
