Coming to you live from a hotel room in San Fran.
Not such an odd place to post from, really, but for me to be sitting here rather than hitting the town on a Friday night is painful. My sister, whom I was relying on for a going out pal, has apparently started going to bed at 9:30pm so I'm blah bored. On a happier note, I'm all ready to go out tomorrow night regardless of if she goes with me or not...any of you SF folks want to party with a nerd tomorrow? :)

I actually bought two hand carved Garuda figures--out of all the gods, demons and mythical beasts I like him best. And the Garudas found in Bali are much more bautiful than those in Thailand or India.grant wrote:Sorry, I don't mean to be cryptic:

Barongs would be cool, too:

I was just feeling particularly sorry for myself and I was pretty disappointed that my sister didn't want to go out for a bit of a good time, but I guess priorities change with a kid (another reason I don't need a kid at the moment...). I did make it out to the Vanderslice instore at Amoeba, loads of fun and I didn't do too much damage buying used goodies. Also saw Great Northern one night (Saturday? Sunday? one of those.) and that was fun, even met a few fun folks to hang with during/after the show.
Hello from Akureyri, Iceland. There are sheep EVERYWHERE in this countrz. If I'll wake up tomorrow morning with a sheep standing in my room, I won't be surprised. I'd think there are tastier things to graze on than my mattress, but then, I'm not a sheep.
Oh and all those neat special characters on the keyboard, love them!

I humbly submit that any official Long Winters Elec-tronic Salon Meatspace Gatherings be held in Iceland. You know why? Because everyone would expect it to be in Seattle, which is EXACTLY why we shouldn't have it there.
We just need to be willing to fly Cap'n Jack to Reykjavik, as his Ark might not be ready quite yet.
