Question: Where are they?

Post by semi_retarded »

Sorry if this has been asked in a previous thread, but I looked for two pages and didn't see anything that was directly related...
What are they up to lately? Did they break it or something?
What's going on!!! I realized I haven't seen them live in almost a year and there is no sign of touring or album releases.
Am I just crazy? Or is there a weird pause going on?

Just a weird pause!

I imagine John's currently still working on writing songs about pastrami sandwiches, truck crashes, and interest rates.

The pause is not so weird, given how it took over 3 years for the last album to follow up the previous one. We're still on less than 2 now. Life needs to be lived to spawn more beautiful, heartfelt music.

To know if you're crazy we might need some more information. Do you ever feel like lying down in the grass and pretend you're a daisy? Although actually, a pastrami sandwich fixation might indicate a slightly higher degree of crazy. For semi: here's where that comes from.

Things are out of my hands at the moment, but I'd count on a CD/DVD package of the live show being released sooner or later.

Eventually.

At some point.

Where do we stand in terms of the documentary? Or was that completely shelved for the live package?

The post-production work on the documentary has been spotty since post began on the live show. It hasn't been forgotten; once the live show is out, it's back to full-time doc work.

As far as working titles go, I'm thinking of renaming it, "Straight to Voicemail: John Roderick's Utter Disappointment Upon Seeing it's Adam on his Caller ID"

Nothing against the sandwich itself, just the photo. I have high standards, because I'm a nerd and I'm really into product photography.

I'm glad to hear that. I was afraid that it may have gotten lost in the shuffle. I wait with baited breath for both releases!

Unless this is some sort of Canada thing that I don't understand, I think you mean "bated breath".

Nah. He's just been snacking Pautzke's Balls of Fire and those fluorescent marshmallows that smell like dead fish all evening.

I have to ask: How come you know so much about the crazy, Lies? I'm shocked.

In another thread John mentioned the new record is going to be "pretty neat sounding". Yep.
